Year´s Eve fireworks is a feast of peace. Each year on December 31,
about 2 million people goes to the sand strip and seaside of Copacabana beach. The majority dressed in white, to await the coming New Year, which is celebrated with a magnificient and unforgettable fireworks that takes place at midnight.
The
city gets crowded with lots of travellers and tourists. Fine and sophisticated meals are prepared for the party and to offer hospitality to the visitors,
travelers and tourists.
The locals take the streets to mingle, to watch the fireworks show and have fun.
Big gigs are hold
on the sands of Copacabana beach after the fireworks.
Besides Copacabana, the Rio´s city hall hold events in other parts of the city, such as in Flamengo, Ipanema, Barra da Tijuca and downtown.
The party goes on through the night, and many people celebrate till the dawn.
